Films Protective Company manufactures double sided optical clear adhesive film for OCA display module bonding, glass-to-touch-layer lamination, and touch screen assembly. This OCA optical adhesive film is used between cover glass, touch sensor film, and LCD/OLED display modules to keep high light transmission, low haze, and controlled bubble performance. For mass lamination, the value is not only clarity, but also clean die-cut edges, stable liner release, and a practical bonding window.
Product Overview
This double sided optical clear adhesive film is designed for optical bonding inside touch screens and display modules. It is not a general transparent PET film or normal double sided tape. In display assembly, the adhesive must stay clear, even, and clean after liner removal because dust marks, edge bubbles, or uneven wet-out can become visible when the backlight or OLED panel is turned on.
The film has release liners on both sides. One liner is removed for positioning on cover glass or sensor film, and the second liner is removed before final bonding. Films Protective Company checks coating uniformity, liner release stability, and die-cut edge quality before shipment. In our in-house sample lamination checks, total light transmittance is typically >=98%, and haze is typically <=1.0%. During trial cutting, we watch adhesive stringing, liner lifting, and edge overflow because these details affect placement accuracy. For printed border glass, narrow bezels, or slight step areas, thicker OCA grades can improve gap filling and reduce edge bubbles.

Benefits
- Clear optical bonding:Reduces air gaps between cover glass, touch sensor, and display module.
- Double sided adhesive structure:Bonds both contact surfaces without a visible carrier film in the viewing area.
- Low haze appearance:Typical haze <=1.0% supports cleaner display inspection after lamination.
- Controlled bubble performance:Clean substrates, proper wet-out, liner angle, and pressure help reduce trapped air.
- Clean die-cut edges:Neat cutting reduces stringing, liner lifting, dust pickup, edge overflow, and placement deviation.
- Practical tolerance:Pressure, speed, component temperature, dwell time, and de-bubbling can be tested before mass production.
How does the bonding window affect bubble control?
A stable bonding window is important before this OCA film is used in a touch screen or display module. The adhesive needs enough pressure to wet the cover glass and touch layer, but too much pressure may cause edge squeeze-out or local thickness change. We suggest checking lamination speed, roller pressure, component temperature, dwell time, and post-lamination de-bubbling as one connected process. In sample lamination, edge bubbles near printed borders, narrow bezels, and step areas need special attention.

What should be checked before choosing OCA thickness?
OCA thickness should match the display stack, not only the available stock size. Thin OCA optical adhesive film grades are usually better for sensor-to-sensor or film-to-film bonding where the gap is small and the surface is flat. Thicker grades are often used between cover glass, touch layer, and display module when gap filling, stress absorption, and bubble control are needed. Before mass production, transmittance, haze, release liner stability, die-cut edge cleanliness, and adhesion should be confirmed through sample lamination. Poor thickness selection may create edge bubbles, uneven bonding, or visible optical distortion after illumination.

FAQ
Is this film a surface protection film?
No. It is an OCA bonding film for display module lamination and glass/touch layer bonding, not a surface protection material.
What usually causes bubbles during lamination?
Dust, uneven pressure, fast liner removal, poor flatness, wrong thickness, unstable liner release, or insufficient de-bubbling.
Can Films Protective Company provide die-cut OCA shapes?
Yes. As a manufacturer of double sided optical clear adhesive film, we can supply rolls, sheets, and die-cut pieces. For shaped parts, we check stringing, liner lifting, and edge cleanliness.
What should be tested before mass production?
Transmittance, haze, adhesion, liner release, edge cleanliness, lamination pressure, temperature, de-bubbling, and aging performance.
